The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro

"Aye Aye it's me. Yes me. It is Joe Elliott. It's the Joe Elliott show right here on the ever present and ever wonderful Planet Rock. Evening everyone, welcome. Sixty minutes of what I like to think is amazing music coming right up. Starting off with that most rebellious of cockney's. Mister Steve Harley."

Cockney Rebel/Steve Harley

"Well fair play to James May, Richard 'hammy' Hammond - who incidentally I got slaughtered with at the Led Zeppelin gig at the O2 Arena in 2007. I digress - and specifically Jeremy Clarkson for pointing out the fact that after Steve Harley got a speeding ticket a while ago. He may need cheering up a little bit and everybody watching that particular episode of Top Gear should go out and buy a copy of Come Up And See Me (Make Me Smile). And lo and behold it's gone back into the Top 30. We should all be so lucky."

"That though is earlier Cockney Rebel from an album called The Psychomodo in fact it is indeed the title track.."

Whitesnake/David Coverdale

"As my my old mate David likes to say. There are only two types of people in this world. Them that's from Yorkshire and them that wishes they were. My fellow Yorkshireman David Coverdale there and if he's not standing in the shadows of love, he is a Victim Of Love. And he is indeed on that song from an album called Saints And Sinners that's Whitesnake and before that from their debut album back in 1977. We heard the British Lions and Fork Talking Man."

Show Outro

"I don't think it's any surprise that the Bob James fronted Montrose never really reached the heights that the Sammy Hagar fronted Montrose with Sammy being such a fantastic front man and all. But there are some great moments on the two albums that Bob James did sing on. The first album being Warner Bros Presents and that album there we just heard the title track from the album Jump On It. Well worth checking out if you are a Montrose fan. And before that from The Art Of McCartney, the tribute to Sir Paul himself you just heard yours truly blasting through the old Wings hit Hi Hi Hi."

"So how's about we end this weeks show with the man himself. Until next week at the same time. I shall sign off with Paul McCartney and Wings from their 1973 classic album Band On The Run this is Jet. Until next week see ya!."
