Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell has been given some positive news about his Immunotherapy treatments.

As mentioned last month, Vivian was due to have a check up and tests to determine if his current treatments were working.

These tests were done yesterday and he has already heard back.

In the last hour he has reported via Facebook that his doctors have told him the Immunotherapy is working. More than that, the tumors appear to be smaller than his last scan which could be quite significant.

This should mean he can continue with the treatment, which has little side effects, and he can continue to tour with Def Leppard and Last In Line.

He is currently about to fly to the UK to rehearse with the rest of the band for the UK tour which starts this weekend in Dublin.

A tour which can now be used for a double celebration - the album and this news (or three if you count your show/s as an early Christmas party!).

"I'm at LAX, about to fly to London for the next Def Lep shows. Had great news from my doctor this morning: the mighty Pembrolizumab appears to be holding the tumors at bay. Doc said they might even be slightly smaller than they were in the last scans. Needless to say, I'm most chuffed at this result!"

Vivian Campbell - 30th November 2015 Facebook Quotes

"I'm back at City Of Hope today for another dose of the mighty Pembrolizumab. I also did PET and C/T scans this morning. These scans will determine the efficacy of this treatment and my ability to continue it into next year, so fingers crossed for a good result!"

"Coming here always reminds me to be more grateful, as there are so many people battling cancers that are much, much worse than mine will ever be. These people, and the doctors here, are the proper rock stars. Me? I'm just a guitar-owner."
