Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott hosted another edition of his weekly radio show last night on Planet Rock.

This week's show included songs by Roxy Music, The Faces and Def Leppard.

Joe mentioned his recent vocal issues at the Sioux Falls, SD show and unlike recent shows he talked "at length" during this one. So much so, that this edition almost ran over its one hour time slot.

The full playlist is shown below along with a few of Joe's on air quotes.

The show is available until next Saturday using the On Demand feature. It is also repeated on Tuesdays at 9pm.

The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome. It is the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Sixty minutes of great music coming up for you this week all the way from the Iowa State Fair. Now this is not one of those Mickey Mouse things. This is huge. We like to play here 'cause we really like the guy that runs it. We've been playing it for years and years and years. And there's a lot of political people in town. Donald Trump is here for example but he will not be introducing the band. However I am gonna introduce this song. Their one and only UK hit. This is Jo Jo Gunne."

Sturgis, SD Show

"Now you may recall last week I did the show from a place in South Dakota called Sturgis which is one of the biggest biker fests in the world. Fantastic crowd, revving their engines, clapping along. One of the downsides however of playing in front of so many bikes is the fact that you end up with dust and gasoline in your throat. And that's exactly what happened to me. You may have read about it on twitter and Facebook. But my voice completely blew out the following night in a place called Sioux Falls. So for the encore it was a little bit like watching Queen doing Love Of My Life or watching Rod Stewart doing You're In My Heart where he holds the mic out for the crowd and they all sing the song. They do it for fun. I did it because I had no choice. But as you can hear the voice is back. It was a just a little blip and everything is great. And that my friends is part of being in a band and part of the thrill of it all."

Def Leppard - Move With Me Slowly

"A lot of rock tours these days have what's known as a VIP package where you get a first say front row or the first five, ten rows ticket. You get to come backstage and hang out. You get to have your picture taken with the band. And the lady that coordinates all this for the Def Leppard tour is a lovely Australian lady called Donna who did take a lot of ribbing for the Cricket recently. However in the background of these Meet And Greets she has a tendency to play the Slang album a lot. And we've been hearing the songs in different running orders. Just two or three a day maybe and that songs keeps popping up. And we've all decided, we all agree wholeheartedly. The whole band do. That it has actually grown into itself over the last 20 years. It didn't really fit on the album back in 1996. So we left it off and used it as a B Side but these days it seems to have just developed its own character. So there you go from the Slang sessions back in 1996. The original B Side, now a bonus track on the re released Slang a song called Move With Me Slowly."

Show Outro

"And that my friends all the way from the Iowa State Fair is about it for this week, been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at the same time all the way from the Woodlands in Texas. Which is about 30 miles outside of Houston. So hopefully there won't be a problem. Gonna leave you tonight with one of my favourite bands when I was in my teens. My spotty teens. This lot were just a noise fest and I lowed them to death and still do. From their debut album this is The New York Dolls from 1973 with Jet Boy. Until next week see ya!."
