Joe played his biggest known hit 'My Coo Ca Choo' on his show last night and revealed that he didn't actually sing the track himself.

Alvin died aged 72 on 23rd October after a short illness.

According to the BBC his final album 'Alvin' will be released on 3rd November. It is his first studio album in 30 years.

The Joe Elliott Show - 25th October 2014 Quote

"Now I was tempted not to play this next song once I'd read that he didn't actually perform it. But I always like to honour the fallen and the fallen this week is Alvin Stardust who died of a short illness at the age of 72. Formerly Shane Fenton, he had a huge hit with this song but he didn't actually sing it. No, apparently it was sung by a guy called Pete Shelly. Not the guy from The Buzzcocks, but the guy who wrote and performed a song called Love Me, Love My Dog. Very bizarre. Let's just say this was the best, I think, the best song associated with the late great Alvin Stardust."
