Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott presented an award to Ozzy Osbourne last night at the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour event in Los Angeles, CA.
The ceremony took place at Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles, CA and was hosted by Sammy Hagar.
Joe presented Ozzy with the 'Classic Album' award for 1981's 'Blizzard Of Ozz'. An album that featured guitarist Randy Rhoads.
Def Leppard supported Ozzy in August/September 1981 on the Blizzard Of Ozz tour which was remembered by Joe in his speech. Ozzy's live band at the time also featured drummer Tommy Aldridge and bassist Rudy Sarzo who went on to play in the 1987/1988 line-up of Whitesnake with Vivian Campbell.
Joe later performed a Queen song with Brian May and the Kings of Chaos band. Queen + Adam Lambert won the Band Of The Year award.
Phil Collen was not present despite being mentioned in the press release. Joe spoke to Billboard after the awards (see link).

"The first tour Def Leppard ever did - September 1979 in the UK was opening for Sammy Hagar and he was f**king amazing."
"Which leads us very nicely to 1981. Def Leppard's second tour of America and we are opening - we're the opening act. As you would be on a second album High 'n' Dry which was doing OK but not great. But the headline act was an amazing guy who really looked after us. And he - well let's just say he liked a drink. he liked a drink and he would come into our dressing room and one night in the Stanley Theatre in Pittsburgh - came into our dressing room just to make sure that we were OK with being fed and being looked after. And we were, we were being looked after. But as he was making - you know asking the questions he just walked over to the window and you know those American buildings where you can see the staircase - the fire escape on the outside of the window. He walked over, lifted up the sache window and he just had a piss out the window. Little did he know, that he was pissing on his own audience cause they were queueing up to get into the building. The guy was Ozzy Osbourne."
