Def Leppard played a show in Wantagh, NY on 24th July 2000 and a rare backstage photo has been posted online.
The photo features Joe Elliott, Phil Collen with Ian Hunter and Steve Brown and was taken backstage during the Euphoria summer tour.
Ian Hunter joined the band on stage at this show to sing lead vocals on Mott The Hoople's 'All The Young Dudes'.
This was the second time he had done this after a July 1996 show in Middletown. NY. That first performance was recorded and later released by Ian on his 'Once Bitten Twice Shy' compilation album in May 2000.
This photo from 2000 is the only visual record (that has yet surfaced) from either the 1996 or 2000 appearances. The only times a singer other than Joe has sung lead vocals on a full song at a Def Leppard concert (excluding acoustic songs/at acoustic shows).
The photo was posted online by Steve Brown of Trixter who stood in for Vivian Campbell at the NFL appearance and four US concerts whilst he underwent Stem Cell treatment. View the full image below.
