Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott was interviewed last month by Overnight America on CBS St. Louis radio and he talked about the 2015 studio album recording.

Joe talked to host Jon Grayson about the NFL London performance, the 2015 studio album, The Art Of McCartney, the Down 'n' Outz plus an update on Vivian Campbell's health (before his return home last week).

Joe said the new album is almost complete apart from his lead vocals, a few Phil Collen guitar solos and mixing. The interview was conducted the day after the NFL performance in September.

Overnight America - Joe Elliott Interview Quotes

Upcoming Activity

"Things are great actually, very busy. Def Leppard had a very busy summer this year on tour with KISS throughout the States. I just got back in from London. We were the Hors d'oeuvres for the Miami Dolphins against the Oakland Raiders NFL game from London at Wembley Stadium. Which was fantastic to perform in front of 85,000 fans and countless millions on TV no doubt."

"Def Leppard are gonna be finishing off a new album. We've a couple of tracks that we're involved in on The Art Of Paul McCartney album that's coming out next month and I'm promoting the Down 'n' Outz album which finishes this year with a 10 date club tour of the UK in December which should be a lot of fun."

Vivian's Health/2015 Studio Album

"But I do know that it will make him better and he will be hopefully cured of this evil disease and be ready to join us again next year for the world tour for the new album. See we very cleverly recorded all Vivian's parts already so the only things that's left - you know all the drums and rhythm guitars are done and his backing vocals are all done. So the only thing left to do really is all the lead vocals that are either written and not sung or not written or sung yet. And then a few harmonies, a couple of guitar solos from Phil here and there and then we gotta mix the thing. So he's clean and clear to go off and get well while we finish the record ."
