The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome to the Joe Elliott show right here on the fantastic Planet Rock. And if I sound a little more alive than I did at this time last week. Then indeed, yes. Jet lag Joe has become energised Joe because I just got back from London, where at Roger Daltrey's insistence I was helping out on the Teenage Cancer Trust gig which was to launch The Who At 50. And some fantastic artists involved in a wonderful night. Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam, Geddy Lee from Rush, Liam Gallagher, Ricky from the Kaiser Chiefs. Sheila Ferguson did a fantastic turn. This is the lady from The Three Degrees remember, she did a fantastic Acid Queen. Johnny Vegas did his little bit and also god bless him Phil Daniels wearing his original Quadrophenia parka even came out for Bell Boy. I'll tell you more about it later on. We've also got a World Exclusive first play of the brand new Def Leppard song which is featured on the Paul McCartney tribute record coming out next week. But where are we gonna head first this week? I know The Babys Head First. Get it? like what I did then?."

2012 Love Reign O'er Me Cover

"Featuring Carmine Appice on drums. The late Huw Lloyd-Langton, formerly of Hawkwind on guitar. The legendary Rick Wakeman on keyboards and yours truly on vocals. That is our version of Love Reign O'er Me originally found on The Who's Quadrophenia album. That from an album called Who Are You? An All Star Tribute To The Who is the song that I performed with The Who's house band last Tuesday night at the Shepherd's Bush Empire. And before that from the album Snapshot we heard The Strypes who were performing brilliantly with Wilko Johnson as a guest guitarist on a song there called Blue Collar Jane."

Show Outro

"On the 20th December this year they're playing the entire Kimono My House album with an orchestra. That my friends will be something to see and hear. But from their album Indiscreet, for now that is Sparks with Happy Hunting Ground. And before that featuring the wonderful guitar work of Mr. Bill Nelson, we heard Be-Bop Deluxe from the album Futurama and Maid In Heaven."

"Right well as promised at the top of the show folks it's time for some brand new Def Leppard. From an album called The Art Of Paul McCartney which features such fantastic artists as Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, Heart, Steve Miller, Yusuf Islam - best known to you and I as Cat Stevens, Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys, Jeff Lynne, KISS, Paul Rodgers, Roger Daltrey, Chrissie Hynde, Cheap Trick, Sammy Hagar and our very own Alice Cooper and of course Def Leppard. And this is our take on the 1973 classic Paul McCartney and Wings single Helen Wheels. So until the same time next week see ya!."
