The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro

"When you're a seasoned traveller like myself. You get used to the fact that you just grab your bags and off you go to the airport. Last week there I was safely tucked up at home doing the show from Dublin. This week all the way from Southern California folks. Welcome to the Joe Elliott show right here on Planet Rock. I'm in California because Def Leppard have got a handful of shows just to finish off this years touring schedule. Great show tonight. Sixty minutes of fantastic music. It's a special show because I'm dedicating the show to Rick Allen, for it is his birthday today. I was on stage with Rick in 1979 for his 16th birthday when we opened for AC/DC. I shall be on stage with him tonight when he celebrates his....hmm hmm birthday. I'm not gonna mention it, you can work that one out for yourself. For Rick I'm gonna start the show off with a nice bit of classic Californian music/ This is the Monkees."

Show Outro

"The title track there from their very impressive Big Generator album. That is of course Yes. And before that covering one of David Bowie's classic songs from his album Hunky Dory. We heard Dana Gillespie with her version of Andy Warhol."

"And that about wraps it up for this week folks, been a pleasure as always. Southern California always is. Until next week at the same time I shall leave you with this classic track from Pete Townshend's solo album Empy Glass. This is Rough Boys. Until next week see ya!."
