Fingers - Vivian Campbell Interview Quotes

Summer Tour 2014

"Well it's the nature of the touring industry now days to do packages you know. You try and package bands that may have some sort of cross-over appeal to each others audience. The theory is that one and one will make three. That both bands will benefit, that KISS will win over a few Def Leppard fans who might normally not have been interested in KISS and vice versa. With us that we might be able to pinch a few of KISS's fans. And ultimately for the concert goer you want to give value for money. Instead of going to see one huge band you get to see two and two full production to we're not skimping on any of that."

"KISS are brining their full arsenal and we've obviously gotta try and compete with that which is gonna be difficult for us because I mean our show has always been high energy and what not. But it's pretty hard to out do KISS you know they are - I think they set off pyrotechnics about once every three and a half seconds on average. Whatever it is it's a pretty intense show so I mean obviously we're not gonna fight fire with fire literally."

"We're gonna have to bring our A game as regards our musicality and our songs. You know we are very fortunate that we do have a genuine load of hit songs that people will recognise. So many so that I actually think people kind of forget them you know until we start playing them and they go oh yeah there's that one as well. So we're just gonna bring out the big guns this summer and we're very proud of our ability to replicate our sound live. You know we're very strong in the vocal department for a rock band. So you know even though the Def Leppard records are very, very studio crafted and very produced we can actually do a really, really good job of performing them live and it is 100 percent live. So that's all we can really do you know we're not gonna get into make-up and wear huge platform shoes and set the stage on fire you know we're gonna leave that to KISS but it should be a good night."
