Original Def Leppard drummer Tony Kenning is selling off his Pearl drum kit used at the very first performances by the band.

The kit was used during the recording of the 1978 demos which were the first made by the band and during their very first public concert on 18th July 1978 as seen in the show photos.

Tony left the band after just 8 shows and was replaced by Rick Allen on 27th November 1978.

The drum kit was listed on eBay with a price of 10,000 pounds in late November 2013.

Unfortunately for Tony the drum kit failed to sell on the auction which ended earlier today.

eBay Listing Quotes

"For sale is the Drum Kit owned and used by me when I played for Def Leppard in the late 1970's. I have owned this kit for 35 years.

It was used in all the early Gig's and was also used on the recording of the 1978 Demo featuring me playing and also the self financed Def Leppard EP.

The kit is made by Pearl and bears the scars of many years of gigging. Some of the stands were changed over the years as and when they fell apart but the drums are all original. The kit comprises snare, tom, floor tom, 2 maxwin concert toms and a couple of roto toms. Various stands.

It will be supplied with a Certificate signed by me testifying to its authenticity.

Can be picked up in person or Carriage is to be arranged and paid for by the buyer.

Tony Kenning."

Thanks to Andy.
