The Joe Elliott Show - 11th January 2014 Quotes

"Now I've lost count of the times that I've actually shared a stage with Mr. Brian May suffice to say it's many. many times. We've known each other for over 30 years. In fact I met Brian for the first time backstage in Munich in 1981 when Def Leppard were opening for Richie Blackmore's Rainbow and he was taking a night off from recording an album called Hot Space. So it's a friendship that goes back a long way. I was very saddened to read on his blog this last week or so that he's been suffering from a minor health issue. Brian we all wish you the best and can't wait to see you back on stage with that fireplace of a guitar around your neck rocking away for us all to listen to. Until then here's Brian May doing what he does best. The only band Queen ever opened for were Mott The Hoople. This is Brian May and his take on a classic Mott The Hoople song."

"And before that from an album called Moth Poet Hotel which rearrange those letters you get Mott The Hoople. An album put together by one time Mott keyboard player Morgan Fisher. It's a collection of mostly Japanese artists but the solitary English guy was Brian May with his version of All The Way From Memphis."
