Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen spoke to Artisan news in 2013 and he said the band are extremely excited about recording new material in February 2014.
Various band members have said the band will get together on 1st February at Joe's studio near Dublin to start work on new songs. This may result in one or more songs released in an EP form and a potential full album in 2015.

"I'm really excited. We're going in the studio February 1st. Got some new ideas. We've been - I saw Joe, Vivian and Rick on Rick's birthday out here on November 1st and we were discussing, we were all excited and buzzy about new material. I can't even remember the last time we were like that. You know about stuff cause it's been a long time since we've had new recordings out. So it's like a brand new band you have all these ideas and we're just gonna get together and bash it out it's great."
