Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott will no longer be producing the second album by Black Star Riders this October according to Ricky Warwick.

Ricky revealed the news in a recent interview with Rock 'n' Load who interviewed Joe back in April about the Down 'n' Outz album.

It was announced on 26th January this year that Joe would be involved in producing the album in October with Lep co-producer Ronan McHugh.

Joe also had to pull out of producing the second of Ricky's solo albums having already completed the first Hearts on Trees earlier this year.

Def Leppard will now have much of October and all of November free to work on finishing off their new studio album with Phil recently stating they would get together again in November. Joe also has the 10 date UK tour with Down 'n' Outz scheduled for December.

Rock 'n' Load - Ricky Warwick Interview Quotes

"We haven't got Joe Elliott producing it. We did have Joe Elliott producing it, but he's not doing it any more. Yeah, Joe's unfortunately had to pull out of doing the album just due to the fact that Leppard have gone insane with KISS and there's loads of stuff going on. So he unfortunately had to pull out. You know both of us are very sorry about. It's a real shame because it would have been great with Joe because he's such a friend and such a champion of the band. But you know he's gotta look after his boys and Def Leppard's obviously his priority. I would have done the same thing had it been the Black Star Riders. So it's just the way it worked out but we have somebody else lined up who we're gonna announce very soon."

"Joe's already produced the acoustic album for me which I've done and that's produced by him. The electric one unfortunately was another victim of the KISS tour as well so I've already recorded that. I recorded with a guy called Tim Boland. He produced my last solo album Belfast Confetti. So I've just finished recording that with him."

The Joe Elliott Show - 25th January 2014 Quotes

"Also celebrating the fact that I'm gonna be working towards the end of this year with my very good friends Ricky Warwick and Scott Gorham on the new Black Star Riders album. More about that later on let's play some music. Here are the fab four. The fab four from Rockford, Illinois that is."

"Now I mentioned at the top of the show that I'm gonna be working with Ricky Warwick and Scott Gorham on the Black Star Riders second album towards the end of the year. This is a little taste of what they've done in the past starting off with some solo Ricky Warwick."
