Will Ded Flatbird be resurrected?

Joe - "Oh yeah I think Ded Flatbird. I think they're here to stay in one form or another because even if Ded Flatbird change their name back to Def Leppard. I think the fact that we had so much fun playing stuff like Good Morning Freedom. Which let's be honest two guys in the band have never played. In fact never even heard of it. And me, Sav and Rick Allen hadn't played it live in 33 years. The fact that that was the first ever song that we in Vegas. Night one first song you know. I love the fact that it was on YouTube within two or three hours with the wrong title on so they didn't know what it was. Now if that doesn't shut up the they never play anything except their greatest hits brigade, then nothing ever will."

"And pulling out Rock Brigade, Wasted and On Through The Night off High 'n' Dry an album. In fact we actually played side one in sequence one night and that's on the DVD. One of the two nights that we filmed we played seven of the ten tracks off High 'n' Dry. We only played Let's Get Rocked twice out of 11 shows. Things like Foolin' maybe two/three times. We really wanted to go in deep."

"And I'll tell you what's really exciting is on the DVD. Which it's not actually credited because of kind of a licensing, publishing situation. At least we had The Who's permission to do it. We actually opened the Ded Flatbird set by going live on Won't Get Fooled Again. The Daltry scream so it - you know after the Moony drum fill when the big scream comes in that's actually me. You know what I mean and we come in live then and finish the song. And then go into one of our own. Even though it's not on the CD it is on the DVD and it was really exciting to do. And obviously until it gets tweeted around the world nobody had a clue we were gonna do that."

"The curtains opened and we just start playing The Who. But the tape of the songs been playing while the house lights were starting to go down you know it gives us that six minutes to prepare ourselves for when the curtains open and come out and wear clothes that we wouldn't - I never wear Earth colours. I mean are you kidding me a green shirt, a coffee coloured jacket, a brown Top hat and blue jeans and shades. I was like the bastard son of Mick Jagger, David Johansen and Steven Tyler you know it was hilarious. And you say things between songs that I would never normally say. Which maybe I will from now on because Booty Reuben as I became for the Ded Flatbird set, you know he was a bit of a boy that chap. I can say that in the third person because we all took on pseudonyms for a bit of a giggle you know."
