The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro

"Evening everybody and welcome to The Joe Elliott show on the very wonderful Planet Rock. Hope you've all had a great week. Hope you are well. Seems that we are moving slowly but surely into Autumn. Which is a bit of a shame because summer has been beautiful. Nevertheless that does mean that the gigs are coming thick and fast. And that can only be a good thing. Gonna start this weeks show off with the magnificent sounds of Dr. Feelgood."

The Strawbs/Dave Cousins

"Little known fact the gentleman singing on that particular record ie. one Dave Cousins. Once did a voiceover on the very first Def Leppard album On Through The Night on a song called When The Walls Came Tumblin' Down."

Recent Concerts

"I mentioned last week that I'd been to a couple of concerts. I went to see The Wall by Roger Waters at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin and a couple of days later I was at The O2 arena to see Fleetwood Mac. Where they played an amazing version of this song."

"Couple of highlights there of the last two shows that I have been to see. The Aviva Stadium in Dublin an enormous show by Roger Waters putting The Wall. That was one of the highlights for me Run Like Hell originally from The Wall album of course. And before that from The Dance the live version by Fleetwood Mac of a song called I'm So Afraid which has just echoes of Mick Ronson's Moonage Daydream when it comes to the guitar solo absolutely hairs on the back of the neck standing up on that one. Fantastic."

Show outro

"This has got to be one of the most bizarre, eclectic hours I've ever put together. I'm gonna take it one stage further with this last number. I'll say goodnight until next week with this Judas Priest from the Sad Wings Of Destiny album and The Ripper. See Ya!."
