The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro

"Evening all. Welcome to the Joe Elliott show once again right here on the beautiful Planet Rock. It has been a very active week here in Dublin at Elliott Towers. It's been a bit of a mixture of pleasure and work this week. Last night I went to see Fleetwood Mac at the O2 Arena. On Wednesday night I went to see Roger Waters The Wall performing at the Aviva Stadium which was a phenomenal production I have to say. Hats off to him for putting all that together. And in between loads of promo for the VIVA! Hysteria movie which premiered Thursday night everywhere from John o' Groats to Land's End and all points in between. As well as working on the Down 'N' Outz album. So it's nice to be able to sit down and pick a few songs and share them with some of my fellow rockers out there. Let's get the show started this week shall we with this one. This is No Sweat."

No Sweat

"Towards the end of 1988 when the Hysteria tour had just finished I was back home getting ready for what would be the writing sessions for the Adrenalize when I was introduced to this band called No Sweat. And they asked me if I would come in and produce their single for them. So my very first ever debut as a producer - that was the song that we did. A song called Heart And Soul and to this day it's the only single by an Irish artist that's ever debuted at Number 1 on the Irish charts. Nice little piece of history there."

Def Leppard/David Bowie/Show outro

"From the album YEAH! that is Def Leppard with our version of the classic Free song Little Bit Of Love and before that you heard Green Day with 21st Century Breakdown from the album of the same name. And that my friends is about it for this week. Been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week with 60 minutes of fun sounds. Until then I'm gonna leave you with a little bit of history. It's just over 40 years since David Bowie split The Spiders From Mars. And he actually did it on stage. And having worked with three of those guys myself. I know for a fact that at least two of them didn't know he was about to say what he's about to say now. Until next week goodnight."
