Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield where Def Leppard played their famous homecoming show in 1993 is now being demolished as work begins to tear it down.
The local press and the BBC reported yesterday that work has started on dismantling the interior of the now closed stadium. According to the video shown below the stadium will be gone in six months.
The demolition plans were first announced in March of this year.
As previously mentioned 6th June 2013 marked the 20th anniversary of the first concert at the stadium headlined by Def Leppard alongside support acts Ugly Kid Joe, Thunder and Terrorvision. Joe and Phil mentioned the band discussing a return there in 2009 before accepting the invitation to play at the Download festival in Donington.
