The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro

"Good evening everybody its the Joe Elliott show right here on Planet Rock. It is 6pm, it's Saturday night and this is The Stranglers."

Woody Woodmansey

"Sadly the only surviving Spider after the recent passing of Trevor Bolder. That is Woody Woodmansey from the album Woody Woodmansey U-Boat back in 1977 with a track called Let You Be."

Jethro Tull/SAHB

"Two Ian Anderson songs back to back there the latter was the Sensational Alex Harvey Band's version of a song called Love Story from their album The Penthouse Tapes back in 1976. And the reason they recorded that track was they were opening for Tull in Europe and they were en route to a gig I believe in San Sebastian in Spain when they were hijacked. Their gear was taken and stolen never to be seen again. And when the band finally arrived at the gig the guys from Tull very kindly offered to let the play on the headline gear which went down so well with the SAHB guys that they decided to record a song as a thank you to Jethro Tull and specifically Ian Anderson."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week this is Joe Elliott signing off. I shall be back with you next Saturday all the way from Cape Town in South Africa where I shall be with he Kings Of Chaos doing a couple of shows so until next Saturday at 6 when hopefully we will join together once again here's The Who, sorry about that, goodnight."
