The venue where Def Leppard guitarist Steve Clark made his final appearance with the band is to close in September 2013.

Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City/Los Angeles will be closing in September. It was announced in December 2011 that the venue will be demolished to make way for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park.

Def Leppard played the venue for the first time on September 1989 at the 6th MTV Video Music Awards. The playback performance (only Joe's vocals were live) was the last time Steve Clark appeared with the band. It came 11 months after his last live show in Tacoma, WA on 27th October 1988.

The venue was built in 1972 and renovated in 1982. The band returned to play two live shows there in 2002/2011.
