Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen has explained his hand surgery which is due to take place in September.
Phil revealed that he needed surgery on one of his fingers after an injury during a Swedish newspaper interview in July. The surgery is being done to repair a damaged tendon and will mean he won't be able to play guitar for three months.
The injury meant that for much of the Summer Tour 2013 Vivian played the guitar solo on 'Rock Of Ages'. Vivian explained on 15th July that this was because it was too hard for Phil to play with his injured finger.

"Thanks to everyone concerned about my surgery. Don't worry it's a standard procedure to put my tendon back on the knuckle. It slipped off just before the tour but I pressed on."
