On This Day in Def Leppard History - 31st January, the following concerts and events took place. Including the UK release of the 'The Def Leppard E.P.' 34 years ago in 1979.
The E.P. came out during the month of January 1979 and was the first release by the band (the exact day is not known). It would later reach Number 84 on the singles chart when re-released as the Getcha Rocks Off single in September 1979.
One of the three songs, 'Ride Into The Sun' was later re-recorded during the 1987 'Hysteria' single B-Side sessions. This new version was also included on the 1993 compilation album 'Retro-Active' with a new snare drum sound added and a piano intro by Ian Hunter.
As of 2013, Def Leppard have never played on this date.
