Def Leppard are not considering legal action against boy band One Direction according to an interview with Billboard.

Tabloid the Mirror reported last week that the band were considering taking action against them over an alleged similarity between their song 'Midnight Memories' and Lep's 1987 classic.

The song is taken from their third studio album also titled 'Midnight Memories' which in fact has a Leppard connection. Two of the songs, 'Best Song Ever' and 'Little White Lies', were co-written by Wayne Hector. Who co-wrote the song 'Long Long Way to Go' with Steve Robson from the X/Ten album. A song also recorded by Lionel Richie in 2004.

"The chords are one-four-five," Campbell tells Billboard. "Those are the blues. You don't get more basic than that. I think what's more reminiscent of the Leppard thing is the production, the sound, the vocals, the reverb and the way it's assembled."
