Sunday, 30th September 2012

BBC 6 Music.

Def Leppard's classic 1979 Paris Theatre live broadcast will be replayed on 3rd October by BBC 6 Music during The Live Music Hour show.

The station are celebrating Sheffield with some special shows and Def Leppard will be part of the celebrations (see following news stories).

The show originally featured seven songs but the radio broadcast included Glad I'm Alive, Hello America, When The Walls Came Tumblin' Down, The Overture, Getcha Rocks Off and Wasted. The broadcast represents the best audio available from the time period with the original band line-up. The full show also included 'Rock Brigade' and took place on 22nd August 1979.

The shows airs at 3-4am on 3rd October. It will be available for 7 days after this on the BBC iPlayer.

The show was last aired (six track version) in full by late DJ Alan Freeman on his Saturday Rock Show on Radio One in the week Steve Clark died as part of his tribute (12th January according to the cassette I have). Since then a few tracks have been played by 6 Music.
