Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott hosted another edition of his weekly radio show last night on Planet Rock.
This weeks show featured all cover versions including Def Leppard's version of 'American Girl' from the YEAH! album sessions. Two other Lep related tracks were played with the Cybernauts version of 'All The Young Dudes' and Graham Bonnet's cover of the Mick Ronson/Joe Elliott track 'Don't Look Down'.

"So the story of that particular version of American Girl, originally done by Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers, which is credited to Def Leppard but is in actual fact just myself and Vivian and a few of his friends and it was part of the YEAH! sessions. It was never gonna be on the album. We all had a few left over things and this is something Vivian had been messing around with in his studio and he just sent it over to me. I said please send it cause I love the song so much we should do this as part of the project. It did come out on a bonus CD in the States and no doubt will end up on a Def Leppard box set one day."
