Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell has spoken about the recent death of guitarist Ronnie Montrose.
Ronnie passed away on 3rd March aged 64 after a long illness. The 2005 line up of Montrose supported Def Leppard on 17th June 2005 in Jacksonville, FL and were part of the same bill at the City Stages Festival in Birmingham, AL a day later.
Def Leppard have mentioned the first Montrose album was a major influence on them (as have many rock bands) with Joe Elliott playing some of the songs on his Planet Rock radio show.
Vivian wrote the following on his facebook profile.

"Wow, just heard that Ronnie Montrose died yesterday. He was only 64. I loved the band Montrose, in fact we did some shows with him several years ago. Sad."
