News - Nikki Sixx Says Motley Crue/Def Leppard May Tour Together Again

Wednesday, 4th January 2012 |

Def Leppard/Motley Crue 2011.

Motley Crue bassist was interviewed by Kerrang! radio in December 2011 and hinted the Def Leppard/Motley Crue tour partnership might continue.

The interview was conducted backstage at the LG Arena in Birmingham and broadcast as the Nottingham show was happening on 8th December (as mentioned in the Live Blog). Nikki said the bands might continue touring 'somewhere else'.

He was also interviewed by Rolling Stone magazine in late December and talked about a new co-headline tour for 2012. Perhaps not related to Lep but worth a mention.

Kerrang! - Nikki Sixx Interview Quote

"We're excited. When we first started talking to the Lep guys - I think we did one show somewhere in America somewhere, Joe Elliott, who has an amazing memory, will probably tell you the exact place and date, he's like really good with that. I think we did one or maybe some festival where we kind of passed in the night but this is the first time we've actually done a tour together. I'm excited, I'm really excited and it's something that might happen again, somewhere else, some other time."

Rolling Stone - Nikki Sixx Interview Quote

"We're negotiating with a couple of other extremely huge bands on doing a co-headline tour, something that's never happened before."

[6th January Note] - Reports today say Motley Crue will tour the US in late 2012 with KISS which is likely the band referred to above.
