The first three albums by DIO featuring Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell will be reissued as Deluxe Editions in March.
'Holy Diver' (1983), 'The Last In Line' (1984) and 'Sacred Heart' (1985) will be released as 2CD Deluxe Editions on 12th March. Each set will have a bonus second disc featuring various single B-Sides and live material. Including 'The DIO E.P.' and the 'Intermission' live E.P. that was released shortly after Vivian was fired from the band in 1986.
The three albums feature the line up of Ronnie James Dio (Lead Vocals/Keyboards), Vivian Campbell (Guitars/co-writer of 15 songs), Vinny Appice (Drums), Jimmy Bain (Bass).
Claude Schnell (Keyboards) joined the band for albums two and three. Guitarist Craig Goldy replaced Vivian and played on the studio song 'Time To Burn' on the 'Intermission' E.P. as well as recording overdubs for the live songs (recorded in 1985 when Vivian was still in the band). Details of the bonus discs can be seen below.
Vivian recently played 'Rainbow In The Dark' live for the first time since his last DIO show in 1986. He also talked candidly about his departure from the band in a 2011 interview (see Previous News links).
