Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott has been interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter about the re-recording of old material and record company issues.
Joe talked about the issues with their old label Universal, explaining why the band decided to re-record. This actually explains why in April 2010 Sav told BBC Radio that the band would be on iTunes later that year - Universal obviously decided to stop the deal after this announcement was made. He also talks about how the recording process was for the new versions.
The Hollywood Reporter - Joe Elliott Interview Quote
"A few weeks. We did it like the originals -- you go in and do a couple hours here and there when you've got the energy and the ability. They're not costing us a great deal of money to rerecord because we're doing most of the work in my studio, and I don't charge the band for my studio. They just pay the electricity bill, which is pretty minuscule. So it's a win-win for us. We get to record them cheap, but we get to make the maximum amount of it."
