Columbia/Baltimore, MD - Fan Reviews

Fan Review - By Kevin Wetzel, Greencastle, PA

Prior to Def Leppard hitting the stage and burning Merriweather Post Pavilion to the ground things had to get warmed up. On hand for this were tour mates, Lita Ford & Poison.

Lita Ford blazed through her 30 minute set belting out tunes such as Living Like a Runaway, Branded, Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever.

After a quick turnaround Bret Michaels and the boys from Poison took the stage. Playing for nearly 40 minutes they trucked through Look What the Cat Dragged In, Ride the Wind, Your Mama Don't Dance, and We're an American Band. The only time Poison slowed down was during Every Rose Has It's Thorn which got a loud seal of approval from the jam packed venue. Closing out their set left fans having Nothin' But a Good Time.

The break during the setup for Def Leppard was a lot more extensive and rightly so given the time to construct the staircases and to make way for the band's elaborate light show and extensive stage rig. A countdown then began on the video screens indicating the band's imminent arrival. As soon as the countdown stopped the prelude to Undefeated began and it was go time! Def Leppard showcased why they've had staying power for 30 + years as they segued seamlessly from song to song and tore up the stage in doing so.

Joe Elliott's voice was right on par and he hit his notes perfectly especially on Women, Gods of War, & Love Bites. Vivian Campbell & Phil Collen took turns trading killer guitar riffs and solos. Viv's solo at the end of Love Bites is always great! Sav was his usual active self continuously moving around the stage. Rick Allen was his always smiling self and the incense was burning just like his bass drum.

The Final 4 in Def Leppard lingo were Armageddon It, Photograph, Pour Some Sugar On Me, & the encore, Rock of Ages. The 2012 Rock of Ages tour was AWESOME and a definite must see this summer!
