Def Leppard Draws in a Huge Crowd to the Grandstand.

Nice weather and a legendary rock act was the perfect combination for a big night at the North Dakota State Fair.

Def Leppard made a return to the Grandstand tonight playing to a packed crowd.

The group was here 8 years ago and remains one of the largest attended concerts in state fair history and tonight was something of a repeat performance judging by the number of people in the stands.

The group's current national tour is one of the most successful tours of 2007.

State Fair officials no doubt hope that will help continue an upswing in attenDance numbers.

Yesterday, 24,928 people were here for KX-Coop Day up about 11-hundred from last year - and the biggest number ever for KX-Coop Day.

Through the first six days, fair attendance is 157,255 that's down about 12-thousand from last year.

Fair attendance rebounds to make for another strong showing.

In addition to the favorable weather, the Def Leppard concert proved to be the biggest draw of the week, with more than 11,000 people attending the Thursday show. Concerts with Reba McEntire, Chris Dougherty and Dierks Bentley each drew between 6,000 and 7,000 fair-goers.
