San Diego/Chula Vista, CA - Fan Reviews

Fan Review - By Ross

OK so I went back on my word I said I was going to protest the all greatest hits setlist and not go to any more shows after Las Vegas but when a 3rd row center ticket appeared about 8 hours before the show I couldn't help myself.

Same setlist as Vegas. I thought this show was better than Vegas, the band had more energy and Joe's voice was right on all night. They seemed to be enjoying this venue more than Vegas, outside shows are much better and the sound was much clearer. This is a great place to see a concert. The crowd seemed more into the show also.

I thought they hit the opener Lets Get Rocked (too bad they didn't open with Rock Rock like Phoenix) just right tonight, Let It Go was awesome as always, I thought Promises was the weakest song, but every other song they didn't disappoint the highlight again was Rocket and Rock On. I even liked Love Bites tonight which is in my opinion a weak encore song. Good show, I still hope for a better mix and longer set next year though.

Def Leppard Rocked!!! As die-hard fans we were disappointed that there were no songs from Yeah!. But, I'm just happy to see and hear them. We were front row on Phil's side and had a blast. Traffic getting into the venue was horrible so we missed most of Journey. They are good and I like a lot of their songs, but Def Leppard blows them away in stage presence and rock'n songs.

(What is with the stream of water into the crowd from Journey's stage?) The sound quality was great. Joe's voice was fantastic. They all seemed to have energy and enjoyed interacting with the crowd. Phil gave my 12 year old son a pick. After the show a security guard gave him a set list. All in all Def Leppard were SUPERB!!!!

Def Leppard can work a huge amphitheater like no one else. Last night's San Diego show was, in a word, spectacular! And somehow, that doesn't even begin to describe it. When you have five men playing and singing from their hearts, and giving us all they have, it makes for nothing short of a stellar connection between us and them.

I was back down to 2nd row last night, and nothing for me can beat being that close to see smiles and winks and everything else. I experienced so much adoration and tremendous admiration for them, like always. Joe beginning the whole show with that question "Do you wanna get rocked?" is an awesome way to start their performance! Well, half of the audience was already on our feet as soon as We Will Rock You began to play on the P.A. Ooooooooh, LOOK OUT!!
