Lichtenvoorde, Holland - Fan Reviews

Fan Review - By Roel

Right! Def Leppard back in Holland for the first time in 14 years. In front of an (estimated) 27.000 people, mostly Roger Waters fans who played after the Leps, they gave a great gig! The sound was excellent. A lot of people didn't seem to care a lot about Def Leppard playing at the Arrow Rock festival but I think it went down pretty well. Maybe not a lot of people knew the songs, but hey, the last single here in Holland was WLAHC, and that one didn't even reach top 40. besides that, the only Lep songs ever played on Dutch radio are LGR and Animal. No surprise those songs got the best response.

Def Leppard played really well, but probably due to the tropic temperature and the fact that most people were already waiting for Mr. Rogers, the audience response, i.m.o. was pretty cool. They were all over the stage. Viv seemed to be goofing around with somebody backstage (Wolfie?) giving him the finger several times. All in all, after the concert I heard several non Def Leppard fans say that they were pretty surprised about the power the Leps displayed on the stage, so I think it was a good move to play arrow rock festival, to win back fans!

Other acts were John Waite, who did a really good show, Uriah Heep, Journey (back in Europe after 30 years!), Queensryche, Whitesnake (a bit disappointing), Deep Purple, Roger Waters, Pavlov's Dog, Porcupine Tree, Riverside, Ted Nugent and Blackfoot.
