Camden, NJ, USA - Fan Reviews

Fan Review - By Pamela

I was lucky enough to attend the private acoustic soundcheck prior to the show. The guys performed Two Steps behind, 20th Century Boy and PSSOM. I was thrilled to hear 20th Century Boy, since it was not played at the show.

The guys looked great, very relaxed. They were all sitting on stools. Phil stood while playing PSSOM, I remember him always saying it was too hard to play sitting down. Joe had on a beautiful 'mustard' color leather blazer. I remember Phil wearing flip flops.

They asked us if we had any requests, I replied with WLAHC. It was funny, they started to play it and screwed up, so they did Two Steps Behind instead. Malvin was rushing them after the second song and told them their dinner was getting cold. Joe replied "Isn't it a salad?" Too funny!

(Many thanks to Pamela for great pics. Pamela also sent a review/pics from the private acoustic gig they did for fans last year when the gig was rained out at Campbell's Field-see 2005 Tour section.)

This show was the first one since the X tour that I saw live, unbelievable and incredible is the best way to describe it. They were very energetic and sounded fresh. The set list was awesome and the place was over filled, one of the supervisors suspected that there were 7 to 8 thousand people there. Although the place only hold a little over 5.

Awesome will some it up. Journey was okay and then came Def Leppard, making Journey look like rookies. The screen behind the stage was great and it seemed like Leppard was finally ready to grasp the big Rock Show again. I saw them here in '96 and only about 6,000 were here and the show was completely stripped down. Tonight, there was over 13,000 (i work in radio in AC and i know that from the promoter.)

They sounded great and the setlist was good. Some hits left out, but overall they nailed it. New songs sounded excellent!!! I was in the 14th row on the left and the entire crowd was really into the show throughout. I'll be at the AC show at Borgata on Saturday. I'll report back on that show as well.

As Steven mentioned, the band did sound very fresh and very energetic. It was an overall incredible show. The new material sounded great, especially "Hanging on the Telephone!" My only complaint was that the show was way too short. Hopefully next time out, we'll get a full set.

One correction, the Tweeter Center holds about 25,000. It was near capacity for the show.

Never been to the Tweeter Center before. It was a very nice place besides the fact that its in Camden. There had to be 14 to 15 thousand people there. The place was packed. Journey was awesome. They had the place rockin! Then DL came out and did a greatest hits set again. Except for 3 new songs. All in all great night and I cant wait for the PNC show.
