Raleigh, NC - Fan Reviews

Fan Review - By Anon

The show in Raleigh was great! I got there around 6 PM with Rick Warwick going on at 7 PM. He was great as well. For his last two songs Viv came out and played with him. They both sounded pretty good together. Rick played until 7:30, and it said the intermission would be about a half hour. However, Bryan ended up coming on at about 7:40. The crowd wasn't too into him at first. Bryan got the biggest reaction, of course, with Summer of 69. Bryan had a fairly long set list. He played Run to You last, and then left the stage at about 9:00.

At about 9:30 the Lepps came on, and I was ecstatic. They opened with Action, a nice treat since I had never heard that song live before. Great choice for an opening song if you ask me. They then jumped right into Lets Get Rocked, which seemed to get the crowd going. Next was Make Love Like a Man. This is a GREAT live song. Joe didn't seem to hold the note as long as he did during the x tour when he says "beteeeeeeeer" but it was an impressive song none the less. Next was Foolin' and it sounded great. The lights were awesome on that song. Hysteria also seemed to get a great reaction from the crowd. The duel solo sounded great during that song. Joe introduced Phil, and he led into Promises, another great live song. Joe then started talking about YEAH! saying that he knows people have downloaded it, but the final release will be much better. The band then played No Matter What, and then into Love Bites. After that Joe introduced Viv, and he led into Armageddon it.

Then the played Rock On. The song got a great response from the crowd surprisingly. That song is very powerful live. Next was Rocket, which they extended like they normally do. The crowd really got into that song as well, fist pumping and everything. It was really hard to keep myself from air guitaring during the interlude though :P. They closed it out with three heavy hitters, Photograph, Animal, and Rock of Ages. All receiving great responses. For the encore, they play Bringin On the Heartbreak, and Pour Some Sugar On Me. I was kinda hoping they would sneak Gods of War in there, but it was a great concert anyways. If you get the chance to see Lep on this tour, definitely do it. You will not be disappointed. Bryan and Def Lep both sounded amazing, and it was worth every penny.

This was my third show with AC still to go...I'm going to be a little critical of the short setlists......now I do understand that the show minus the intermission was almost three hours.... Bryan played a full set......but after the incredible X tour where they were playin' 20-22 songs, this current setlist is at least 1/1/2 songs short.....they really should be playin' "Switch" after "Heartbreak", and last nites setlist was great because they switched up from the summer setlists, but either "Let's Get Rocked" or "Women" have to be played.....they are two of their best songs for a live concert. The lower bowl was probably 80% full last nite and upper ring wasn't open so I would guess 6-8000 people attended...definitely wasn't the greatest crowd in the world either....people were sittin' down around me at times...lookin' forward to AC now that I know they are switchin' up the beginning of the setlists....guys keep the faith!!!.

Def Leppard were amazing last night! I had been looking forward to this for weeks. Life has been tough, but last night my troubles disappeared. They opened with "Action", and proceeded to rock the night away. It was different to hear LGR in the beginning of the set rather than the end, and I'm so glad they left MLLAM in the set simply so we could hear Phil sing. :) NMW went over well, as did "Rock On". They had done NMW in AC last tour and it was even better this time. I loved the beginning of "Rock On" with Joe just standing in the shadows singing. Awesome! During "Photograph" I held up a photo I took of Sav 3 years ago in Fayetteville and when he saw it he smiled. Little things like that mean the most to me, and are memories I will keep forever. It was over too soon, and I loved them closing with "Sugar". I'm already looking forward to the "Yeah" tour! Thank you Def Leppard for being a part of my life all these years, and I will see you next time!.

My mom and I (yes, I took my mom, I'm only 18 myself) arrived at the venue at around quarter till 5, so we had about 45 minutes to wait until the will call windows/gate opened, which was 5:30. I had an extra ticket to sale, Section 1 7th Row, but the only person I could find who needed one was some half drunk guy who wanted to give me $15 for it, and probably turn around and sale it, so I refused. I'd rather see the ticket go to waste than to have some ass make a profit off of it. My step dad was going to come later, so I told him to bring my camera when he got there. My mom/stepdad and I would be sitting in different sections of the venue, so we just kind of walked around and talked until it was time for the show to start.

Ricky Warwick came on to a mixed reaction. I had seen him before, twice, on the "X" tour, and I'd say he's alright. I'm just not a big fan of that type of music. Viv came out for the last two songs of Ricky's set, like on the "X" tour. Sometime during Ricky's set, my step dad came to give me my camera. I saw that he had nothing in his hands. He said the security wouldn't let him in with it, which really pissed me off, as EVERYONE had one. Since we had an extra ticket that hadn't been scanned, he went back out to the car, got the camera, and came in through a different entrance. Turns out it was just a security guard's ignorance.

Next was Bryan Adams. Not really a fan of his, but I like a few of his songs. Originally I was going to sit during Bryan Adam's, but I realized how much I hate it when someone sits during a band's set. They DON'T have to be up there performing for you, so I decided to show them some respect and stand/cheer/clap for them. Toward the end of Bryan's set, he invited a fan up on stage to sing an "obscure" song with him. I think it was hilarious that Bryan DIDN'T choose the woman who flashed her boobs, but someone who was actually a fan. The standhand handed her a lyric sheet, which she didn't even need. She knew every last word, and got into it without making a fool of herself, so props to you Kelley! (That was her name, I think.) Overall Bryan Adams did an amazing set.

This was my 5th time seeing Def Leppard, my first being the Adrenalize tour when I was in Kindergarten. Once again, the band blew the roof off of the venue, despite the short set. Is it me, or was Bryan's set longer than Leppard's? Anyway, this was also the best seats I've had for a Leppard show. I thought the sound was perfect, except for maybe the bass could have been a little louder, and Joe's vocals were very strong. The show seemed to just fly by. At the end of the show someone had made a sign that read "For Baby Samantha", which had a teddy bear or some sort of stuffed animal attached to it, which the fan handed to Phil, who seemed to appreciate the gesture. The setlist was the same as Bristow, VA. The only negative thing of the night was that there was no "Gods Of War", since it was dropped from this leg after two shows. Overall this was another amazing concert experience. Thanks Def Leppard, and I can't wait until the 2006 tour.

The show was great. They started the set w/ Action, and of course, went through most of their major hits. The stage setup was basic, but nice. One really cool feature they are doing this tour, which I haven't seen any other band do, is that Sav has a microphone and pedals on each side of the stage so that he can play to both sides of the crowd any time. Great idea!!! The guys were in really great form - looked and sounded amazing. My husband, who is not really a fan but is a musician so is quite judgemental of a live show thought they sounded great. He made a point to say the backgrounds sounded awesome, which they did! The crowd reaction was great, lots of singing from the audience. Unfortunately, I don't have a set list in order, but they played: (see above)

I think there were a couple more, but I can't remember - but that was the majority of the show. The set was 1 1/2 hrs, they played from 9:30-11. Another thing I really liked, was that being a "greatest hits" tour, they showed a lot of old footage and pictures on the screen behind them.
