Atlanta, GA - Fan Reviews

Fan Review - By Girl4Punk

The show was absolutely AMAZING! (Then again, it was my first Def Leppard Live experience)...but they kicked ass anyway! They were eatin' the stage up, and didn't leave a single bit of it untouched. They sounded great, and it seems that they are still at the peak of their career! The crowd participation was fabulous, and everyone sang along! By far my greatest rock and roll experience! I don't have a negative thing to say!!!!!!! ROCK N ROLL FOREVER GUYS!.

Def Leppard played before an estimated crowd of over 30,000 in Atlanta on Sunday, and they rocked their socks off!! Of course I missed seeing them when they first got on stage, as I had a rather large photographer blocking my entire view, so much for front row. I was fed up with the view so I rather loudly said I was glad I drove 7 hours, paid all this money, and brought my camera to see Def Leppard, and all I get is her fat ass in my way! She moved!!! YAY!! The crowd was really pumped with the High N Dry set list for openers. Then it was on to "Foolin", "Promises", and "Hysteria". The sound messed up a couple of times during "Hysteria", and gave us spots of dead silence. Then it was time for the only song they played from "X", "Four Letter Word", which went over really well! After that was the total crowd pleaser, "Women". They played my favorite extended version of "Rocket" with the Led Zeppelin snippet in it! Always a good choice! For the rest of the songs, Sav used his Union Jack bass.

It was an interesting show from the get go, as Everclear was the band before DL, and that is when the crowd surfing started. It slowed down some when DL took the stage, but not much. Of course with DL on stage, there was a little twist added to the surfing, topless surfing! Made for an interesting show! The security guards kept filling up their own cameras with all the "flash" pictures they could handle! Only one encore for this show, that was a disappointment. The crowd was DEFinatly left wanting more.

The band came out at 8:30 right on time and they did one of the best performances I have ever seen on stage they sang older songs like "let it go" and Saturday night (high and dry) to brand new songs like 4-letter word they worked the crowd and they all looked incredible. they did many wonderful songs including an encore of lets get rocked if you have never had the chance to see them in person I strongly suggest you do they know how to put on a show and make you feel their playing just for you.

Let's just say it was an adventure. First off, I talked my 19 year old daughter into going with me. MusicMidtown is a 3 day music festival. The first night my daughter listened to 2 songs by Sheryl Crow and that was enough for her. Second night we watched Saliva, which I thought was great but she said was just OK. On to the last night. The plan was to watch Everclear and then when everybody left to get really close for Leppard. But after Everclear, most everybody stayed. I was shocked. I didn't think those stoned/drunk 20-somethings would stick around for Leppard. But they did. Which is sorta strange since 96Rock (that's which stage they were on) doesn't really play Leppard on the radio.

The concert was great. The crowd was rowdy. Girls on shoulders taking their shirts off and even stripping during one song. The band really looked like they were enjoying it. I think the song list was the same as Livestock 13 in Zephyrills, FLA, except we got an encore of "Let's Get Rocked." One small technical booboo during Hysteria. The mic went out for a couple of seconds. And Sav left the stage a couple of times near the end of the concert; looked like he was having problems with his guitar. But then, that's what live shows are like. Everybody was having a great time, band and audience alike. Even my daughter was singing and waving her arms in the air as were the entire audience. And that says alot, IT WAS GREAT!.
