- Location / Buenos Aires, Argentina
- Venue / Cine Teatro Gran Rex
The first show by the band in this city and country.
The first time at this venue.
The venue is located to the east of the city centre and near the coast.
It was opened in July 1937 and was built in an Art Deco style.
At the time the largest cinema in Argentina.
The band had been scheduled to play a show in Santiago, Chile the day before (Friday 18th) at the Estadio Nacional but travel issues meant it had to be cancelled. The band spent the day in Santiago before flying on to Argentina.
Whilst in town the band played in a charity football match and wore the national Argentina football team's football kit (See Photo Galleries). These may have been the same as the one presented to Sav during his TV interview.
This show was filmed by Much Music TV.
The set featured a new extended dance version of 'Slang' with taped South American-style percussion playing during a lengthy mid-section.
Joe invited some local girls on stage to dance, this version had been played throughout the South American tour. 'Photograph' was not included on the TV broadcast.
The broadcast also featured interview clips with Rick Savage talking about this tour leg and praising the fan response.
