The venue is located to the East of the city centre and part of the Kings Park Sporting Precinct which also includes the nearby 85,000 capacity Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Durban is 352 miles to the South East of Johannesburg with the next show in Cape Town some 1,015 miles to the South West of Durban.

It was opened in June 1958 as Kings Park Stadium.

Since March 2018 it has been known as Jonsson Kings Park.

It was renovated in 1984, 1993-1995.

The band were now supported by local band Squeal for the first of two shows.
