The venue is located the downtown area of the city centre.
It was opened in October 1991 as the Delta Center and again from 2002 to 2006.
From 2002 it was known as the Salt Lake Ice Center.
From 2006 to 2015 it was known as the EnergySolutions Arena.
Since 2015 it has been called Vivint Smart Home Arena.
The band changed the setlist at this show with 'Let's Get Rocked' now used as the opening song.
The Dirt Harry opening was played but instead of going into the Excitable scream Joe used the 'Do You Wanna Get Rocked' line and as the song kicked in the curtains dropped to reveal the stage, as they did during the 'Stagefright' opening.
The band had appeared at the MTV Video Music Awards on 9th September. They performed 'Let's Get Rocked' during the event which was held at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion.
The band did not win any of the four awards they were nominated for.
