Toledo, OH - Media Reviews
Def Leppard @ Toledo Sports Arena By Toledo Blade
It was so hot that obliging crowd-control workers were pulling men and women who couldn't stand the heat anymore over the barricades that kept the audience several feet from the stage.
It was so hot, Elliott kept getting pelted by bars from the crowd - sweaty ones, he notes.
In a rarity for the Sports Arena, the band played from a stage in the middle of the arena.
The 'In The Round' stage made for great viewing from any seat.
Despite sauna-like conditions, Elliott, and his band mates, all utilizing wireless guitars and microphones, bounded around the massive stage with a child-like exuberance.
It was the kind of night where the band fed off the energy crackling from the crowd. Nobody seemed to care that the vocals, both Elliott's and harmony from his band mates, were distorted, often badly.
Most of the night the crowd was singing along and drowning out Elliott.
