Def Leppard @ Dean E. Smith Center By N.C.U. Technician

Fall break on the University Of North Carolina campus - a time for students to get away from everyday stresses of academics.

A quiet, peaceful time.

Not last Monday night.

Last Monday was loud and bawdy, as English rock 'n' roll quintet Def Leppard invaded the Dean Smith Center.

Bringing along an obviously well-rehearsed show.

Monday's performance was the band's second stop in the Triangle during the North American lef of its world tour.

The energetic Elliott took time out from his strutting and losing long enough to pick up a guitar and join his band mates during 'Hysteria'.

While Elliott clearly enjoyed his new discovery, the transition seemed out of place.

MTV generation fans who attended the show ere bombarded with special effects, but none were worth the ticket price.

Cheap looking laser beams, smoke, and an inadequate light show accompanied the band.

While buying time for his band mates, Elliott asked the audience what topics they would like to discuss.

Sex was the unanimous choice.
