Battle Creek, MI - Media Reviews

Def Leppard @ Kellogg Center Arena By Battle Creek Enquirer

The main portion of the show ended with the pulsing 'Rock Of Ages' during which vocalist Elliott conducted a giant sing-a-long from each of the stage's four sides.

If you don't think that most of the 7,000 people can't make some noise, then you have sorely underestimated those in attendance Tuesday night as everyone in the house did their best to raise the roof during not only the sing-a-long, but tin their desire to get the band back on stage for an encore as well.

All of the group's members were outstanding in their own way.

Co-lead guitarists Phil Collen and Steve Clark took turns all night dazzling the crowd with their great fretwork, while bass player Rick Savage kept as outstanding foundation throughout the night with drummer Rick Allen.

It should be noted that Allen now plays a specially designed drum kit due to an auto accident a few years ago in which he lost his left arm.

That lack of an arm, however, hasn't stopped him from still being an outstanding musician.

Vocalist Joe Elliott has some of rock's more durable pipes and has been solidly screaming now for several years.
