Providence, RI - Media Reviews

Show Story - From Animal Instinct

Not so funny was the August 7th show in Providence, Rhode Island. Blaming poor ticket sales, the promoter informed both bands that he did not have the money to pay either of them. Backstage, while Joe was doing a quick interview, Ozzy's wife Sharon Osbourne walked up to the promoter and spat in his face, after which she kicked him in the balls.

Twenty minutes after that, Don Arden, Sharon's father and Ozzy's manager at the time, looked the promoter straight in the eye and said "Listen, asshole, you're gonna pay my artist or I'm gonna break both your legs." "I think he paid," Joe says.

By Zomba Books 1987.

Interestingly Billboard published the box score of this concert showing all 3,200 tickets had sold with gross sales of over $26,500.
