  • Location / Helsinki, Finland
  • Venue / UKK-Halli @ Messukeskus Helsinki / UKK-Hall

The first show by the band in this city.

The first time at this venue.

The venue is located to the North of the city centre and close to the main train station.

It is also part of the Messukeskus complex of venues which has the full name of Messukeskus Helsinki, Expo and Convention Centre.

It was opened in 1975.

The venue hosted concerts from at least April 1976 to at least May 1990.

UKK-Hall is the largest hall in the complex and is now known as Amfi Hall.

The complex is also next to the newer 13,349 capacity Hartwall Arena.

Rainbow had played two shows before this one in Isstadion, Stockholm (4th) with EF Band opening and Brondby-Hallen, Copenhagen (5th) with Dynamoe opening.

The Rainbow fan club say Lep played this show in Helsinki and the Gothenburg show but missed out the other shows having originally been scheduled to play them.

'Animal Instinct' says the first show with Rainbow was in Essen, the first of 22 dates but the first date was actually in Gothenburg.

Joe travelled back to London to finish recording the last vocals for 'High 'n' Dry' before the Essen show.

Rainbow's headline set was filmed by an audience member at this show.
