The final show on the On Through The Night UK tour with Magnum and local/young acts in support.

Following a three week break after this show the band would go on to start their first American tour .

The venue is located in the city centre.

It was opened in 1774 and then destroyed in a fire in 1963.

A new building was opened in 1977. In March 2014 the building suffered a fire and is currently being renovated.

The opener for this show was Dawn Trader, a New Wave Of British Heavy Metal band based in Nottingham.

They featured Mick Preston (lead vocals), Wayne Wizard (guitars), Fraser Shaw (bass) and Ian McKay (drums).

The band released a self-titled four track E.P. in 1980 and two further EPs in 1981 and 1982 before spitting in 1986.

They reformed in 2009 and released a full album in 2011 called 'Castle'.
