  • Location / Sheffield, England
  • Venue / Phoenix Hall @ Sheffield City Polytechnic

The first show by the band in this city since February 1979.

The first time at this venue.

This venue is located in the centre of Sheffield within the grounds of the Sheffield Hallam University and across the road from the main train station.

The band were reportedly paid 40 pounds.

The show was one of the first to be featured in the local media. Rick Savage's father worked for the paper in question, The Sheffield Star, as a typesetter. The entrance fee 50 pence. The band played after local DJ Colin Slade's 'Rock Disco' at 11pm.

The exact setlist is unknown but they opened with the unreleased song 'Glad I'm Alive' and also played covers of Thin Lizzy songs 'Emerald' and 'Rosalie'.

The show took place in Phoenix Hall run by the Students Union.

In 1982 the building was renamed as Nelson Mandela Building and is currently known as the EM Building.
