  • Location / London, England
  • Venue / BBC Paris Theatre
  • Event / BBC In Concert

The first show by the band in this city.

The first time at this venue.

The venue was located on Regent Street in West End area of the city.

It was opened in April 1939 and renovated in 1946 and was also known by the name Paris Studios.

It stopped hosting concerts and events in 1995 and is now used as a gym/health club.

Since then BBC Radio live shows and events are brodcast from the BBC Radio Theatre and/or Maida Vale Studios.

This was not a regular public concert and the band would not play a full public show in London until September 1979.

The audio from this show was first broadcast by Radio 1 on Saturday 15th September 1979 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm in a an 'In Concert' special which also featured songs by Straight Eight and Kick Cassman.

It's likely these two artists were taped at the same time.

The show was hosted by Pete Drummond and produced by Jeff Griffin.

Various recordings of the show has surfaced among fans all of which have been taped from the various radio broadcasts.

BBC 6 Music has played the show again many times in recent years.
