  • Location / Leeds, England
  • Venue / University of Leeds Refectory @ University Of Leeds

The first show by the band in this city.

The first time at this venue.

This venue is located in the city centre and part of the University Of Leeds campus.

The new First Direct Arena is 1.8 miles to the East of the University.

The Who performed a show here on 14th February 1970 which was released as their legendary 'Live At Leeds' album.

A blue plaque was placed at the venue in June 2006 to commemorate this event, the same month that Def Leppard got their Sheffield Legends star outside Sheffield Town Hall.

Def Leppard probably did not fill this quite large venue for them at the time with 2,100 capacity. It's possible they played in a smaller part of the Student's Union but it would have been in the same building which houses the Students' Union.

The previous gig on the 23rd in Manchester was postponed.

The band were reportedly paid 60 pounds for this show..
